Favourite Fan Fiction in The Professionals

I thought about this and went to my list of favourites. I had a bunch I had saved in a single file and a list. The list is long and would take forever to type..though I admit I am tempted. I loved almost every story I ever read in Pros. In fact, it would be quicker to write the list of the few stories that I hated.

CARNAL INTEREST SERIES BY MADELINE LEE – B/C.
THE PILLORY BY KITTY FISHER.
POISON APPLE SERIES BY T.D. MURPHY.
THE LILY SERIES.
DOYLE’S TRAINING BY M.E. HAND IN NEON RAINBOW SLASH.
BODIE MASTER OF DOYLE AND LETS A BUNCH OF MERCS RAPE HIM.
MOST HORRIBLE STORY..EVEN WORSE THAN PILLORY FROM MY POINT OF VIEW.
BETWEEN A ROCK AND A HARD PLACE BY SKYE IN BLIND RUN 2
DOYLE IS FORCED TO LEAVE CI5 WHEN IT IS FOUND HE WAS A BSDM HOOKER WHEN YOUNG. COWLEY USES HIM AS A TETHERED GOAT AND HE DIES.

Okay, that being said there is somewhat of a pattern to things I like. I like science fiction, I like fantasy, I like world building, I like stories of death where that is not the end.

For example: Here are a few that I reread often:

Barb Thomas – A Residence Afresh (meet after death)
Dana Marsh – Bats At Noon (I have begged for a sequel)
Courtney Grey – Blue Figurine (I actually wrote a sequel myself but never posted because I am not a writer but I was so desperate for a different ending and Courtney said she was not going to write one and that I should myself so I did)
Ellis Ward – Echo and Broadcast Difficulties (sci fi)
Debra Hicks – Free Trader (sci fic)
I also liked Cook and Warehouseman (sci fi)
I loved Hunted by Devils by HG zine (based on movie Cassidy)
Tarot – Of Tethered Goats
James Darcy – Saints & Miracles and The Tangled Web
Jane Carnall – Time Crossed Lovers (not B/C which I do not care for)
Alexandra – Tea for Two
DVS – Suitable Gravity (sci fi)
Dana Marsh – The Third Week In April (once a year lovers)
Ellis Ward – So Much For Wishes (Bodie as child)

I like a lot of Kate McLean stories and Elessar.

Camera Shy and Stage Fright by Meg Lewtan (actually I really like all her stories)

Now I am tempted to dig them all out and have a marathon but I really have to finish the four or five I have ongoing books or I will make myself crazy. Sooner or later I will dive in and read all my zines and the boxes full of xeroxed circuit stories and the huge file on my computer and all the stories on the circuit DVD. There just are not enough hours in the day to read everything that awaits me. I keep buying books.

The latest paper arrivals are: Sir Richard Burton’s Diaries. I Am What I Am by John Barrowman, Hen of the Baskervilles by Donna Andrews (latest in her series), Cookies and Scream by Virginia Lowell (the latest in her series).

The books I currently have on the go are:
Driving Mr. Dead – ebook in the Nice Girl’s Don’t universe
A Cookie before Dying – second in series – ebook

When I buy the newest book in a series I collect, I start with book one and read my way to the new one.

The ones I that sit at bedside and in bathroom to be picked at like popcorn:

THE PENGUIN DICTIONARY OF PROPER NAMES by Geoffrey Payton and John Paxton
QUOTATIONS BY MENCKEN
DICTIONARY OF PHRASE & FABLE
DON’T MIND IF I DO BY GEORGE HAMILTON
MENCKEN – THE PHILOSOPHY OF NIETZSCHE
THE WIT & WISDOM OF DISCWORLD
LEONARD MALTIN 2013 FILMS

Lewis Collins’ death has somehow made it difficult for me to dive into the fan fiction. I need more time and, really, my collection of ebooks and paperbacks and hardcovers are filling my days. In between Tumblr, Facebook, Pinterest, WordPress, Dreamwidth, Live Journal, Fat Secret all begging my attention daily, there is Mahjong and Spider Solitaire to fill any loose minute between walking the dog, cleaning the kitty litter, feeding the animals and keeping up with chores and feeding myself. As you notice there does not seem to be any time for other live present people.

One day I will post the entire list of favourites but not today. They are like worry beads, I like to run my eyes over them fairly often. I might even post the list of all the books I have stacked or on Kindle that I have bought and not yet read.
